lo0m
an asymptotic bonding curve on solana. lowercase name, lowercase symbol, six decimals, twenty-one million at most.
§ loom
before solana was solana, it was loom. anatoly yakovenko published the proof of history whitepaper in late 2017 under the loom name. in early 2018 the project became solana, because loom network, an unrelated ethereum scaling project, already had the name and it was getting confusing. the new name came from solana beach, california, a small beach town near san diego where anatoly and greg fitzgerald lived and surfed back when they were at qualcomm.
loom to solana: the chain's only real name change. lo0m picks the original name back up, with a zero where the first o was.
§ issuance
there is no premine and no allocation. every lo0m before the bond is minted by someone paying sol into the curve. the curve is the schedule; the program enforces it.
minted supply at c sol in the curve: q(c) = K · (1 − e^(−c/S)) K = 21,000,000 S = 100 sol price per lo0m at position c: p(c) = (S / K) · e^(c/S) sol owed for burning b from fair supply q: Δc(q, b) = S · ln((K − q + b) / (K − q))
the math runs on-chain in fixed point. mints round down in lo0m and burns round down in sol, so rounding always favours the reserve.
§ the rules of the curve
a 0.3% fee is taken on every mint and every burn and sent to the fee wallet. a single mint is capped at 5 sol. a wallet can't burn in the same slot as its last mint. for roughly the first twenty minutes, each mint gets a 0.9x to 1.1x multiplier: a tax on bots aimed at the opening slot. burns are priced in fair units, so those bonuses are shared by every holder rather than paid out of the reserve.
§ the bond
the curve doesn't run forever. when 100 sol has flowed into it, minting and burning on the curve stop, at about 13.27m lo0m (21m · (1 − 1/e)). from then on, anyone can call bond.
the bond mints the final tranche, 21m − supply, which is about 7.73m (21m/e). it puts that tranche and the reserve into a full-range meteora pool at the reserve-to-tranche price, which is the curve's own price at 100 sol. then it burns the mint authority. supply lands on exactly 21,000,000 and can never grow.
after the bond, lo0m trades like any other solana token: jupiter, dexscreener and the trading terminals see the pool. there is no burn against a reserve any more; the pool is the market. if every curve holder sold into the pool at once right after the bond, the pool would keep about 36.8% of its sol.
§ rails
before the bond, the curve is the only way to get lo0m, and this site calls the program directly. after the bond, the meteora pool is the market and any aggregator can route it.
